Mig 31 Firefox

Dust off those old VHS cassettes, its time for the Firefox to come into Microsoft Flight Simulator

This was one of the burning aircraft that needed to be created and a request from reddit pushed me over the line.

For those of you who don’t know it, watch this trailer of the 1982 movie

This one was a ground up build starting with the typical approach for hard surface modelling with the side, top and front views to build out the exterior.

For the interior, well its still a work in progress but I wanted to fly it so it has an F16 cockpit inside. Unfortunately no mind control, or does it?

Now all we need is Clint Eastwood aka Mitchell Gant to take it for a spin.

I really hope you like it and let me know if you want to see more of these types of Prototype / Sci-Fi aircraft.

BTW, I cranked up the engine performance and managed to hit 3500 knots but the Microsoft Flight Simulator Engine started to bug out, luckily I hit the ceiling of 250 000 feet and came to a holt on the edge of space.

Animated the exhaust too based on throttle:
